My Space ######## **"My Space"** is the user's personal area, containing an overview of the data stored on their account. .. figure:: ../images/4-1.png :width: 70% :align: center My Space | The top area shows the current total space ("**quota**") taken by the resources, including the usage of data cubes and assets separately. | As warned in the section, any resource expires after being unused for a certain amount of time. It's possible to postpone resource expiration by marking them as viewed. | Resources can be individually marked as viewed in their inspector view, or all together by clicking on **"MARK ALL YOUR DATA AS VIEWED"**. Below this area are listed Stories, Data Cubes and Data and Media Assets related to the account. The inspector on the right provides information of the selected resource. Your Stories ============ | The first list is dedicated to the stories saved in the user's account. | Each story appears with its preview and name, along with few information, such as its **type**, if it's **published** (no / project / present mode), **last modify** date, and the **deletion** scheduled date. | The number of stories in a single account is capped (The maximum number is in the "Getting Started" chapter). The inspector provides the full information of a story : - **Published** - **Last modify** - **Deletion** - **Id** - **Type** - **Autoplay** - **Assets used in this story** - **List of data cubes used in this story** Your Data Cubes =============== | Data Cubes are sub-portions of data extraced from datasets, typically smaller in time range and region. Data cube creation is covered in "DCMS Cache-B Data Access". | In My Space they are listed in the second column, with their **name**, **Region**, **Date Range** and **Resolution**. Data cubes information appearing in the inspector is : - **Name** - **Region** - **Data range** - **Resolution** - **Quota graph** - **Last viewed** - **Scheduled deletion date** - **List of stories that use the data cube** | Data cubes can be used by anyone with no need to be saved and consume quota, but when created for the first time, they are automatically saved into the account and consume quota of the creator (we say they are **PROTECTED** from deletion by the creator). | Data cubes protected or just used in any user's story appear in their personal space, and can be protected or uprotected with **Mark As Protected** / **Mark As UnProtected**. | The same options are also available through **Lock/Unlock** button, from the cards of layers using data cubes (See "Home" chapter, Layer Management paragraph). To make sure a data cube is always available for your stories, it’s recommended to save it in your space, because there is no guarantee someone else would not delete it. Your Data Assets ================ A data asset can be any data uploaded by the user (at the moment only in map category). As map category data are composed by tiff or images that are also compressed as a video for smoothing playback, but keeping the source files so to have maximum resolution when needed, in order to save user quota, it is possible to delete only source files. Assets information appearing in the inspector is : - **Name** - **Region** - **Data range** - **Resolution** - **Quota graph** - **Last viewed** - **Scheduled deletion date** - **List of stories that use the asset** Your Media Assets ================= A media asset can be any image used in a story. Assets information in the inspector include : - **File Name** - **Quota used** - **Deletion date** - **List of stories that use the Asset**
